IS MINIMUM WAGE ENOUGH?
Are teachers being paid what they are worth? Studies have shown that many teachers are underpaid and overworked. Teachers who truly have a passion for teaching and show up to work every day to empower, encourage, uplift, and love their students, work very hard and often work hours beyond their contracted hours. With all all of this hard work and dedication, their salary is not equal in value to the amount of work they put in daily. Why is this?
An article from USA Today outlines the discrepancies in teacher's pay. It is shocking to read about the sad reality for many educators. Do babysitters really make more money annually than educators?
What are your thoughts regarding teachers and their salaries?
Do you believe that salaries for teachers should be based on their success rates?
Do you believe teachers need to be evaluated more thoroughly before getting a raise?
Do you believe teachers are expected to go above and beyond with no extra compensation?
